Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring ICU, ED, and MedSurg experience and an active CO or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Float Pool position covering ICU, ED, and MedSurg units within an acute care hospital
  • Work assignments may involve floating between two facilities located 15 minutes apart
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 2 in ICU
  • Standard shift is nights, 3x12 hours, from 18 : 00 to 6 : 00
  • Every other weekend is required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses MediTech Expanse for charting
  • Participate in the rapid response team as an ICU nurse
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
  • First-time travelers with appropriate experience are accepted
  • Employee may choose their preferred scrub color
  • Free parking is available in unrestricted spaces
  • Finalized time-off requests must be submitted before assignment, with no more than 10 days off and none in the first two weeks
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active CO or compact RN license required at time of application
  • Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience required
  • Experience in ICU, ED, and MedSurg settings required
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Strong skills in para / thoracentesis, intubation, central line and arterial line placement, and management of dysrhythmias and ventilated patients required
