Grounds Keeper II

John Knox Village is seeking an experienced and dedicated Grounds Keeper II on a full-time basis to maintain and ensure that the grounds are in the best possible condition at all times. This full-time position will be from Monday-Friday, 7 : 00am-3 : 30pm.

As a Grounds Leader, you will be responsible for the following :

• This position requires the ability to train new employees on the proper procedures for landscaping and use of equipment.
• Assist the Grounds Manager on daily duties including scheduling staff and observing the work of the staff.
• Overseeing staff performance and making recommended adjustments.
• Overseeing the completion of the daily functions of the staff including projects.
• Assist the Grounds Manager with HR administration including separation forms, corrective action, etc.
• Works closely with new residents on their landscaping needs.
• Preplanning the landscape design to include the installation of mulch and other plants.
• Available for all assets, equipment, mowing, bobcat, pest control, irrigation projects, etc.
• Assist Plant Operations as needed.
• Coordinate and schedule the daily work order for every day and every person on the crew.
• Lead the crew in the daily work activities after receiving instructions from the manager.
• We would like to speak to someone who has previous grounds keeping experience.
• Must be able to drive a lawn mower and a golf cart.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Respond to urgent situations when needed.
