The NoSQL Database Specialist will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced MongoDB, Neo4j, and vector database solutions within Humana's enterprise architecture. This exciting position requires strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and / or GCP and a solid foundation in Python development. In this role, you will work toward ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing database environments, collaborating closely with various cross-functional teams to achieve our strategic goals and support innovative technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and enhance NoSQL database solutions utilizing MongoDB Atlas, MongoDB Enterprise, Neo4j, and AI features.
- Create and maintain automation infrastructure using Terraform, working with Azure and / or GCP.
- Deploy, manage, and scale database workloads on Kubernetes to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure robust database security, backup, recovery, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and offer third-level support for production environments.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate database solutions into the enterprise architecture.
- Develop Python scripts for automation and workflows.
- Document processes and solutions to align with established SDLC and cloud engineering standards.
Qualifications
At least 10 years of NoSQL database engineering experience, particularly with MongoDB Atlas / Enterprise and Neo4j.Extensive hands-on experience with Azure and / or GCP cloud platforms.Exceptional proficiency in Python, particularly for automation in database tasks.Significant expertise in Kubernetes for containerized application management and workload orchestration.Familiarity with GitOps workflows and tools.Experience using AI development tools in engineering and data environments.Proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools, especially Terraform.Knowledge of cloud security, access management, and compliance best practices.Strong communication and documentation abilities.A motivated problem solver with a collaborative spirit.Success Measures
Initial 3 Months :Integrate into the Data Platform Engineering team and build strong relationships with stakeholders.Review Humana's enterprise architecture and cloud security standards.Assess and document the current state of MongoDB Atlas, MongoDB Enterprise, Neo4j, and vector database environments.Demonstrate Kubernetes orchestration and GitOps workflow proficiency through the setup of development environments.Begin contributing Python automation scripts and Terraform infrastructure solutions.6 Months :Drive the implementation or optimization of secure, scalable NoSQL solutions, measuring improvements in performance.Incorporate AI development tools into data workflows.Achieve at least one successful production deployment using Kubernetes and GitOps.Establish best practices for database security and compliance.Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance CI / CD pipelines.12 Months :Deliver fully operational NoSQL environments supporting critical business applications.Provide leadership in data modernization efforts, focusing on AI and cloud technologies.Achieve measurable improvements in uptime and incident response across database environments.Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.Document and present insights and recommendations to leadership.Your Skills Can Make a Difference
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience (10 years) in NoSQL Cloud Architecture.Proven experience with MongoDB and Neo4j in enterprise settings.Practical knowledge of vector databases and modern data technologies.Strong experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure and / or GCP.Proficient Python skills for automation and management of databases.Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for managing containerized applications.Deep understanding of database security, automation, and DevOps best practices.Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in NoSQL database technologies or cloud platforms.Solid knowledge of Kubernetes.Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries.Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance standards.Additional Information
Work-from-Home Requirements
Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for home office setup.Minimum standard speed of 25x10 Mbps is required.Satellite and wireless services are not permitted for this role.A dedicated, interruption-free workspace is essential to protect member information.Travel : This role may require occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings.

Compensation Range : The starting base pay for this position ranges from $129,300 to $177,800 per year, based on geographic location and individual qualifications.
This position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan, which is based on individual and company performance.
