Correctional Trades Leader

Clarinda Correctional Facility is looking for qualified candidates for a Correctional Trades Leader. This role will provide safety and security by providing proper maintenance and repairs for the facility. The position also directs incarcerated individual work crews who provide labor for buildings and grounds. The successful candidate will lead and train incarcerated individual workers while completing assigned work. They will also lead projects and prioritize assigned work based on communication with all levels of organization. Performs maintenance work in other areas along and assisting other CTL's with work as needed in the areas of electrical, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, locksmithing, and mechanical tasks. Experience in locksmithing is preferred.

Minimum Qualification Requirements :

• Four years of full-time work experience in one or more of the recognized building and mechanical / repair trades.
• A total of four years of education and / or full-time experience, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in a recognized building and mechanical trade for each year of the required experience.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time work as a Furniture Upholsterer, Mason, Maintenance Repairer, Carpenter 1 or 2, Painter 1 or 2, Plumber 1 or 2, or Welder.
