    The future of robotics—autonomous logistics, precision agriculture, surgical assistance, and human-robot collaboration—depends on high-quality, high-fidelity training data. Labelbox is building a robotics lab and software stack to generate pristine, structured data for leading robotics companies.

    We seek a visionary, operationally driven leader to be the founding head of this initiative. As the Head of Robotics Data, you will be the single-threaded owner responsible for taking this program from its early stages to a scaled, potentially 24 / 7 operation. You will sit at the intersection of hardware engineering, software development, complex operations, and deep customer partnership, building the Robotics lab that powers the next generation of intelligent machines.

    Your Impact

  • Strategic & Operational Leadership : Strong robotics knowledge (ROS preferred) and technical proficiency with robotics arms; first line for on-site logistics related to personnel, hardware, and software
  • Build a World-Class Data Factory : Architect, implement, and scale a robust 24 / 7 data-generation framework with processes, KPIs, monitoring, and automation to ensure uptime, efficiency, and data integrity
  • Customer Obsession & Partnership : Primary technical and operational partner for strategic robotics customers; translate data requirements into production targets and ensure expectations are met
  • Technical Vision & Roadmap : Drive hardware and software roadmaps and integrate capabilities into the Labelbox platform
  • Scale from 1 to N : Scale all aspects of the program, including facility expansion, hardware procurement, software automation, and global workforce planning

    • What You Bring

  • BS / MS or equivalent in Robotics, Automation, Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field
  • 6+ years building and managing complex robotics labs
  • 3+ years managing performance, developing engineers, and allocating team resources
  • Proven track record of scaling capital-intensive operations involving hardware, software, and people (e.g., manufacturing, data centers, advanced R&D labs, logistics / fulfillment)
  • Expertise in robotics domain : sensor modalities (LiDAR, stereo cameras, IMUs), data formats, and robotics software stacks (e.g., ROS)
  • Ability to own a technical / product roadmap and make trade-offs in a fast-paced environment

    • Bonus Points

  • Direct experience building or managing data collection / generation systems for ML
  • Experience in robotics verticals such as autonomous vehicles, logistics automation, or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with ML data lifecycle including annotation, data quality, and model evaluation
