Senior Accountant [UDHG]

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant participates in various accounting activities throughout the month and is integral in the month end close process. This position will have moderate levels of responsibility and high levels of visibility and accountability across all functions in the organization. This positionwill perform accounting functions as assigned including but not limited to preparing journal entries and complex reconciliations for monthly general ledger close. Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements. Ensure that all deliverables comply with US GAAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in month end close process including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts and preparing account analysis
• Validate data between various operating, accounting and reporting systems for project reviews
• Research discrepancies and provides action steps for resolution to management
• Review intercompany transactions for elimination during month end close process.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Create and maintain process documentation to ensure compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.
• Working with Finance leadership to develop better accounting practices and properly deploy them across the organization
• Develop internal control processes to adhere to changing business requirements and evolving business regulations preparing for SOX compliance
• Collaborate with operations personnel and management to support the business and ensure visibility is maintained with key accounting data
• Support the annual audit and reviews by providing appropriate audit documentation.
• Fosters implementation of process improvements as necessary
