Engineering Manager (Systems Engineering / System Verification)
BAE Systems is seeking an Engineering Manager to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. The ideal candidate will be someone who can lead a team of four to nine engineers toward meeting a set of objectives, demonstrate the behaviors to effectively communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and work in a visible and proactive manner across organizational boundaries to deliver positive results. This role is fit for someone who can be a highly engaging, team-oriented, problem solving, and self-starting individual able to respond rapidly to a dynamic programmatic environment. As the Engineering Manager for System Verification, your responsibilities span engineering management, personnel management, and customer relationship management including :
Engineering Management
- Manage execution of engineering capabilities (people, process, tools) and work products (deliverables) in the areas of System Verification policy and process definition.
- Ensure the timely development of System Verification products to support issuance of contract deliverables.
- Support System Verification activities across the engineering lifecycle, for a complex systems-of-systems, including the mapping of requirements to system attributes and interfaces.
- Identify System Verification assessment characteristics that can be gathered from component level development testing activities for use in system level integration assessments.
- Support program leadership in the development of presentations and materials to support program reviews.
- Attending meetings, as necessary, to support tasks above. Some meeting may occur offsite, requiring local travel to Washington, DC or subsystem development / testing facilities.
- Applying Modeling-based Systems Engineering tools to develop digital engineering products
Personnel Management
Functional management over a four to nine person team to include performance and development objective setting, conduct of semi-annual performance reviews, personnel development and training, annual salary planning, resource planning, balancing workload across personnel, and hiring / onboarding of new personnel.Assemble, lead, and manage high-performance team focused on delivering engineering products and developing innovative solutions to complex mission and business challenges.Customer Relationship Management

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor of Science degree in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering8 years experience supporting systems engineering on large DoD programsExperience with major weapon system development product lifecycle and technologiesExperience with conducting compatibility analysis of interface requirementsExperience with integration of models, software, and / or hardwareExperience with various engineering tools / languages including PTC Windchill, IBM DOORS, 2D / 3D CAD, SysML, and / or MATLAB SimulinkExperience with leading projects involving multiple team membersExperience with presenting project status to management and / or the clientExperience in organizing and hosting meetings involving multiple stakeholdersWilling to travel approximately 10% of the timeMust possess strong organizational, time management, and project management skillsProficient with PC and MS Office SuitePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience in managing a team of Engineers8 years experience supporting systems engineering on large DoD programsExperience with the Navy SSP or TRIDENT programsPrior experience working in missile weapon systems, space, and / or nuclear fields.Experience with technical presentations and customer-facing activities at the leadership level.Demonstrated success partnering with customers to understand critical challenges, shape customer requirements, develop innovative solutions, and manage execution of solutions through implementationExperience with various engineering tools / languages including PTC Windchill, IBM DOORS, 2D / 3D CAD, SysML, and / or MATLAB SimulinkASEP or CSEP certificationPay Information
Full-Time Salary Range : $130,355 - $221,603
