Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician II will lead a team to ensure a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. Support the Facility Manager (FM) in preparing stores for daily operations. Key responsibilities include :
- Ensuring HVAC, Vertical Transportation, Restaurants, Entries and Signs, and Building Systems are operational for the day's business
 - Responding to daily repair requests, troubleshooting, and delegating work orders
 - Communicating with Store Leadership, supporting vendor relations, and handling administrative tasks such as ordering parts and scheduling meetings
 
As a lead technician, you will repair and maintain building equipment and systems, mentor other technicians, and support multiple Nordstrom Stores and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node.
A day in the life…
Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on equipmentTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical issuesOperate building controls and monitor systemsManage alarms and system operations via EMCSConduct rounds, identify malfunctions, and report issuesPerform manual tasks such as lifting and material handlingHandle administrative duties including parts ordering and vendor managementFollow safety procedures and act as safety championRepresent the facilities team in meetings and document outcomesComplete maintenance routines and mentor techniciansAssist with technical training for new employeesRespond to emergenciesUpdate CMMS and manage parts inventoryCoordinate with contractors, vendors, and property managersComply with safety and building codesQualifications
High School Diploma / GED; higher education preferred5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience, especially mechanical maintenanceExperience with predictive and preventive maintenanceSkills in HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairsTroubleshooting skills including low voltage and logical devicesAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesEffective communication skillsSelf-motivated with a customer-focused approachProficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems (e.g., Coupa)Knowledge of computer networks and electromechanical systemsProject management experience is a plusFlexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and off-hoursPhysical Requirements
Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb, and lift / carry loads over 50 lbs.
