Position Summary

The Sr. Marketplace Manager will own strategy and execution for Amazon and retailer.com channels (e.g., Walmart.com, Target.com, and others). This individual will lead forecasting, promotional planning, and data analysis to drive sales and profitability across marketplace accounts. Reporting to the VP of E-Commerce, the Sr. Marketplace Manager will collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teamsas well as external agenciesto optimize assortment, pricing, content, and demand generation.

This is a highly analytical and detail-oriented role that requires strong forecasting skills, a deep understanding of marketplace dynamics, and the ability to translate insights into actionable growth strategies.

Primary Responsibilities

Marketplace Strategy & Ownership

  • Manage day-to-day operations and long-term strategy for Amazon and retailer.com accounts.
  • Develop annual growth plans and sales targets by channel and by account.
  • Partner with brand and marketing teams to optimize product content, imagery, SEO, and paid media execution.

Performance Marketing

  • Lead full-funnel performance media strategy and execution across Search, Meta, TikTok, and emerging channels to drive traffic and conversion for owned andretailer.comsites.
  • Oversee external agency partners responsible for hands-on-keyboard campaign management, ensuring alignment to brand, budget, and performance goals.
  • Define and track channel KPIs, budgets, and optimization strategies to achieve ROAS, CPA, and growth targets.
  • Oversee tagging, tracking, and attribution frameworks (GTM, UTM, pixels) to ensure accurate performance measurement and reporting.
  • Identify and scale new growth opportunities while collaborating cross-functionally to align media with product, brand, and promotional priorities
  • Forecasting & Analytics

  • Own forecasting and demand planning for Amazon and retailer.com accounts.
  • Analyze sales performance, traffic, conversion, and profitability to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Create dashboards and reports that clearly communicate performance and insights to leadership.
  • Monitor competitive landscape, pricing, and promotional activity to inform strategy.
  • Promotions & Merchandising

  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns across Amazon and retailer.com platforms.
  • Track promotional ROI and make recommendations for optimization.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to align inventory with forecasted demand and minimize out-of-stocks.
  • Optimize digital shelves, storefronts, and enhanced brand content.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Finance to align revenue forecasts and track budget impact.
  • Partner with Supply Chain on inventory forecasting and demand variability.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Marketing teams to ensure launch readiness and channel alignment.
  • Manage 3rd-party agency relationships (media, content, or retail operations support).
  • Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency in forecasting, promotions, and reporting.
  • Test and adopt new marketplace tools, analytics platforms, and emerging best practices.
  • Leverage A / B testing and data-driven insights to optimize sales performance.
  • Primary Requirements

    Professional Attributes

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA a plus.
  • 57 years of marketplace management experience with proven success in Amazon and retailer.com channels.
  • Strong background in forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analytics.
  • Experience in promotions, digital shelf optimization, and paid media execution within marketplaces.
  • Advanced Excel and analytics proficiency; experience with Amazon Vendor / Seller Central, retailer portals, Netsuite, Adaptive, DAM / PIM systems a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills; able to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
