Construction Estimator / Project Manager

Frederick Derr & Company, Inc., an employee-owned, well-established Sarasota, FL based contractor specializing in site construction including excavation, utility, storm, concrete, and roadway installation, is looking for an experienced full-time Estimator / Project Manager. Qualified candidates should possess 4-5 years of experience estimating and managing civil construction projects ranging from $200K to $15M.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Review construction documents and perform accurate takeoffs for civil construction quantities.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and scope of work.
• Request clarifications from design professionals in a timely manner.
• Offer value engineering options to enhance contract award chances.
• Prepare and solicit bids from subcontractors.
• Review quotes for scope compliance.
• Develop and maintain owner relationships.
• Review construction documents.
• Manage contracts, change orders, and billings.
• Build relationships with material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Analyze cost data and project progress for monthly projections.
• Negotiate and manage project changes and contracts.
• Attend pre-construction meetings and support project planning.
