Position : Senior Accountant
Job Summary : The Staff Accountant is responsible for a range of duties included but not limited to ensuring an efficient and accurate monthly close, financial reporting, ledger reconciliations, accrual calculations, analysis, preparing journal entries, accounts payable review, ad-hoc analysis and short / long-term projects.
Reports to : Controller
Duties and Responsibilities : Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Preparing journal entries impacting asset, liability, revenue, and expense accounts by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Performing timely monthly accounting close, reconciliations, ad hoc duties, and reporting
- Assisting with the accounts payable cycle to ensure accurate General Ledger posting and timely payment.
- Coordinating vendor payments via ACH / EFT / Check / Ramp.
- Banking duties and related reconciliations
- Manage bi-weekly payroll and related journal entries
- Assisting in the annual year end external audit process.
- Lead various accounting related projects to improve accounting and business processes.
- Assessing procedures, internal controls, and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts, and other financial data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintaining accurate and organized financial records, including ledger entries, accounts payable / receivable, expense reports, and other financial documents.
- Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules.
- May support end-to-end payroll processing, including data entry, verifying timesheets, calculating wages, and processing payments for employees.
- Managing and recording financial transactions related to lease agreements.
- Supporting various software integration projects.
- Summarizing financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, statement of operations, cash flow, and other financial reports.
- Assisting with the creation of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
Required Experience / Certifications :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field or equivalent experience.3+ years of relevant experienceSolid understanding and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Strong software system skills, such as MS office and Excel functionalityExperience analyzing data to identify trends or anomaliesMust pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks, and employment drug screenDesired Experience / Certifications :
CPAQuickBooks Online, Ramp, LeaseQuery, and BambooHR experienceComfortable with prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computerHighly organized with attention to detail and quality of deliverables strong time management skills to effectively manage deadlinesSchedule : Monday - Friday 8 : 30a-5pm (in-person position)
