Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 17 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Position : Registered Nurse (RN) Shift : Day, 3x12-hour shifts Contract Length : 13 weeks (91 days) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Summary : The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, and plays a key role in promoting patient safety and positive clinical outcomes. Responsibilities : Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans. Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify educational needs and care goals. Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner. Participate in the rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process to deliver direct care and patient education. Initiate discharge planning from admission and ensure smooth care transitions. Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to physicians and charge nurses to maintain continuity and safety of care. Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing staff while fostering teamwork and efficiency. Maintain a safe and compliant environment, adhering to hospital policies on infection control, equipment use, and workplace safety. Contribute to team morale, resource management, and cost-effective care delivery. Assume charge nurse duties when assigned and pursue ongoing professional development.
