Safe Fleet is seeking experienced welders for 1st and 2nd shift positions. Hours include a compressed 10-hour work schedule. The 1st shift is Monday to Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with possible overtime on Fridays. The 2nd shift is Monday to Thursday from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with possible overtime on Fridays and a $1.50/hour shift differential. The location is Belton, Missouri.
Essential duties and responsibilities include welding of galvanized, carbon steel, and aluminum materials and assemblies; plasma and stitch cutting; welding platforms and pennant plates as needed; preparing assemblies for shipping; performing inspections of own work; maintaining Kan Ban levels; and other duties as assigned.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, six months of hands-on experience in a manufacturing facility, small part assembly preferred, ability to work overtime and weekends as needed, reliable and dependable attendance, mig/tig wire feed welding skills, experience in aluminum welding and robotics strongly preferred, ability to communicate verbally and in written form, mechanical aptitude preferred, physical requirements include frequent reaching, gripping, and carrying up to 50 lbs., plus frequent standing, stooping, bending, and walking. The working environment is an unheated and non-air conditioned manufacturing/warehouse setting. Safety glasses with side shields are required in the manufacturing environment. Must handle multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress work environment. Must have or be able to obtain certification by CWI and ability to pass a pulmonary function test.
