Position Summary
Responsible for all aspects of managing the kitchen and kitchen personnel, ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items and proper handling storage of all food items in accordance with standards. Coordinate the purchase of all food and maintain menus, maintaining approved food costs and labor costs. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. Regular attendance in accordance with company standards is essential for success in this position.
Physical responsibilities include exert physical effort in lifting / transporting at least 50 pounds; p ush / pull carts and equipment up to 150 pounds; e ndure various physical movements throughout the work areas; work environment- Kitchen, restaurant, and all areas of the hotel. Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8-hours in length.
Preferred Qualifications
Education : 3-4 years' experience in a professional high volume and fast paced environment.
Related Work Experience : Solid knowledge of current food trends and ethnic style cooking; Certification in food handler's manager program; Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
Supervisory Experience : 2-3 years supervisory experience.
License or Certification : Culinary Certificate or Degree by an accredited culinary agency preferred.
