About The Position

Must-Have :

• Previous PICU experience
• Experience with ventilators, high flow, chest tubes, IV placement, central lines, urinary catheter placement, NG placement, trach care

Description :

Facility has a need for an RN in the PICU.

The shift is nights with rotating weekends.

The position is for a 12-week assignment.

The unit has 6 beds with a patient ratio of 1 : 2, sometimes 3 for step down or pediatric patients.

Only RNs are staffed on the unit; there are no CNAs or unit secretaries.

Key equipment includes ventilators, central lines, arterial lines, and Alaris pumps.

Documentation is done through Meditech.

Scheduling is done one month at a time.

Floating to other units is required if the PICU has low census.

Weekend requirements are 50% depending on needs.

Trauma and burn experience is preferred.

Procedures performed on the unit include sedation, setup for arterial lines, and chest tubes.

The required dress code consists of navy blue scrubs, with the option to wear a pediatric-friendly top.
