About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

License : Current nursing license

Certifications : BCLS, NRP required

Must-Have :

• Level 2 nursery experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC preferred

Description : Locals accepted.

LDRP and Nursery experience required.

Diagnosis includes Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, Gynecological patients, Gestational Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, and Multi-Births.

Nurses will perform unit procedures such as circumcisions, hearing screens, newborn screens, general admissions, C-Sections, and inductions of labor.

No call requirements are expected.

Nurses are required to work 1 Friday, 1 Saturday, and 1 Sunday shift on every 4-week schedule; these shifts do not have to be consecutive unless desired.

The current average number of deliveries per month is 140, with anticipated increases to the 160s in the coming months.

In-house physician coverage is part-time, with on-call coverage for the remaining hours.

Nurse staffing per shift typically includes 1 charge nurse, 6-7 staff nurses, and 1 scrub nurse.

More or less staff may be utilized based on patient census.

The patient ratios are 1-3 on day and night shifts.

Weekend coverage is required.

Additional interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.

Additional skills required include administration of blood products, APGAR scoring, assisting with circumcision and vaginal delivery, breastfeeding support, and pain assessment and management.

Other important procedures include monitoring for neonatal conditions, performing C-sections, and managing various types of fetal monitoring.

Experience in maternal and neonatal care is essential.
