A major medical center in New Jersey is seeking a Neurosurgeon / Interventional Specialist to provide locum coverage during the upcoming holiday weeks. This role offers the opportunity to step into a high-acuity setting and support a skilled neurosurgical team. About the Opportunity : Location : Neptune City, NJ Facility : Jersey Shore University Medical Center Specialty : Neurosurgery / Interventional Neurology / Neuroradiology Coverage Dates : November 21, 2025 - January 5, 2026 (Thanksgiving & Christmas weeks) Schedule Type : 24-hour call coverage (on-site presence only if called for surgery) Response Time : Within 30 minutes if called in On-Call : Yes, 24-hour call (not continuous on-site) Reason for Need : Coverage due to resignation of two interventional surgeons Responsibilities : The physician will be responsible for : Providing interventional neurosurgical or endovascular coverage as needed Taking 24-hour call with timely (30-minute) surgical response Coordinating with neurosurgery, neurology, and hospital teams Delivering high-quality, safe, and effective patient care Ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and credentialing requirements Qualifications : Board Certified in Neurosurgery, Interventional Neurology, or Interventional Neuroradiology Active New Jersey medical license (or ability to obtain quickly) Prior experience in interventional and surgical neurosurgical procedures Strong decision-making and rapid response skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Desired Skills : Fellowship training in interventional neurology / neurosurgery Previous 24-hour call coverage experience Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
