Site Safety Forman
Site Safety Forman is responsible for overseeing and leading an 8-10 safety resource team to ensure the safety / security of a 300,000 sq. ft. facility and the surrounding premises. The foreman schedules coverage for monitoring surveillance systems, responds to incidents, trains staff and employees on safety protocols, and maintains compliance with company policies and procedures. The position reports to the Health & Safety Manager with a primary day-based work schedule (Mon. Fri.) with flexibility to work early / late shift, overtime, and weekends, as needed.
SAFETY OPERATIONS :
- Conduct routine and schedule regular patrols & facility inspections & surveillance (internal / external)
- Investigate & contact leadership / external resources- (incidents, suspicious activities, or emergencies)
STAFF MANAGEMENT :
Create and manage the safety resource schedule / work assignments to maintain 24 / 7 coverageShare performance feedback / weigh in on corrective actionTRAINING / COMPLIANCE :
Ensure completion of required training (security, safety, compliance)Deliver on-going safety training to team and site employees & contractorsDrive housekeeping and cleanliness standards throughout facility & groundsEMERGENCY RESPONSE :
Work w / H&S Mgr. / site leadership in coordinating response to emergenciesAdminister first-aid, respond to safety events, coordinate w / local authorities to mitigate risksCOMMUNICATION / COLLABORATION :
Maintain open communication with management, reporting on safety issues & updatesProvide documentation of observations, surveillance footage, and other relevant informationCollaborate with other departments to address safety concerns / coordinate responsesPerform other related duties as necessary or assignedSkills / Abilities / Attributes :
3+ years site security experience at industrial / commercial business facility2+ years of successful leadership; directing safety details w / minimum supervisionHelpful leader & team player; able to respectfully challenge and deescalate situationsExcellent communication / interpersonal skills; professionally represent the face-of-the-companyAble to properly handle sensitivity / confidential informationMin. basic computer skills & experience managing facility monitoring systems
