Receiving Team Lead

The Receiving Team Leader will be responsible for leading a small team on the receiving dock, typically consisting of 5-6 employees. The role involves organizing incoming trucks and their arrival times, unloading with teammates, staging for production, and tracking incoming inventory in a system similar to Excel. The leader will train, manage, and coach employees while also performing duties as a working team lead.

Responsibilities :

• Train and assist associates in performing receiving activities.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack, unload trucks, and communicate with truck drivers.
• Plan material delivery to production areas in coordination with production leadership.
• Accurately complete paperwork, data entry, and safety and environmental records.
• Conduct cycle counts and ensure the quality and quantity of incoming raw materials.
• Monitor absenteeism and maintain time and production records.
• Ensure all associates understand and follow emergency response procedures.
• Ensure associates meet required PPE standards.
• Perform safety audits and propose and implement corrective actions.

Work Environment :

The work environment is bright and organized, though the production area can be cramped. The facility is not air-conditioned, resulting in higher temperatures near machines in the summer. Safety glasses and closed-toe shoes are required, and gloves are provided in some areas.

This is a direct hire / permanent position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits :
