Role DescriptionWe are seeking a
full-time, in-office Family Law Attorneyto join our team in Columbia, MO. This attorney will assume an active caseload of approximately30–40 family law files, with the expectation of growing the caseload. You will be supported by an experiencedparalegal, as well as the broader resources of the firm.This role involves handling a variety of family law matters including divorce, custody and child support, paternity, adoption, modifications, and marital property disputes. The attorney will be responsible for case management, client communication, motion practice, discovery, settlement negotiation, and trial work. Strong litigation skills and the ability to manage cases proactively and efficiently are essential.
ResponsibilitiesManage an active caseload of 30–40+ family law filesCommunicate promptly and clearly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and updatesDraft pleadings, motions, settlement proposals, and correspondenceConduct discovery, take depositions, and prepare cases for mediation, hearings, and trialRepresent clients in court proceedings—strong courtroom presence is requiredWork collaboratively with paralegals and attorneys within the firmMaintain thorough and organized case files and meet all deadlinesStay informed on developments in Missouri family lawQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolLicensed and in good standing with the Missouri BarDemonstrated experience in litigation, trial work, or family law practiceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organization, time management, and follow-throughAbility to manage client expectations and maintain professional, compassionate client relationshipsHigh level of responsibility, initiative, and ability to work independently in an in-office settingCompensationCompensation is
commensurate with experienceand may be structured as either :straight salary, orcontingency / percentage-based compensation arrangementIn this model, the attorney would establish their ownLLCand operate in a manner similar to anindependent contractor (1099)rather than a W-2 employee. xuwmhxw This structure provides greater flexibility and earning potential based on performance.Benefits package includes : health, dental, vision and disabilty insurance, retirement, etc.Pay : $80,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
