Job description

Sanitation Associate

Under minimal supervision, a Sanitation associate in warehouse operations is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure a clean and properly sanitized work environment for Inmar employees and any visitor to the assigned facility. Primary Accountabilities include :

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them; periodically strip, seal, refinish and / or polish floors.
  • Gather and remove all trash from workspaces
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
  • Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or maintenance to building operating systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Additional responsibilities include :

  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • Required qualifications include :

  • High School (or its equivalent) or minimum of two year's work experience in a warehouse or production job; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this position required
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
  • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Able to follow standard operation and safety procedures
  • Able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled
  • Able to work under time pressure and meet production goals; able to work more than 8 hours per day (over-time) as needed
  • Able to handle hazardous waste materials with appropriate safety measures
  • Ability to successfully multi-task, works efficiently, and meets deadlines in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Physical demands include :

    The hiring pay rate for this position is $14.40 per hour. Incremental pay increase are provided at 3 months and 12 months of employment. This is a non-exempt, hourly role eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and state laws. In addition to base hourly pay, eligible employees in this role may receive :

  • Safety bonuses based on meeting defined performance and compliance requirements.
  • Shift differentials, where applicable (e.g. for evening or late shifts)
