JEL Fields : I1, Q5 The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank, beginning in the fall of 2026. Applicants must possess a strong desire to teach and pursue research in a liberal arts environment in a department with a reputation for excellent teaching. The successful candidate will teach both electives and required courses in microeconomics and econometrics. Expertise in health economics is strongly preferred. Another field of interest is environmental economics. Your cover letter should address those fields in which you are prepared to teach. The college offers excellent research support. The standard teaching load is 5 courses (18 credits) per year, normally with 2 – 3 preps. New faculty receive a course release in their first year and are eligible for a pre-tenure sabbatical. Education : Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics, although advanced ABDs may be considered. Applications are due November 30. We will conduct the first interviews in mid-January 2025.
