Overview
Our client is seeking a Production Manager responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations at their facility. This role ensures that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. The Production Manager will lead a team of supervisors and operators, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize plant performance.
Base pay range
$110,000.00 / yr - $125,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of production operations, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies
- Monitor production metrics and implement strategies to improve throughput, yield, and efficiency
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to resolve operational issues and minimize downtime
- Develop and train production staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate production records and reporting systems
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process optimization initiatives
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Drive lean manufacturing principles and 5S practices across the production floor
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external auditors
- Move and unload rail cars & trucks with hazardous materials in outdoor sheds under a nitrogen purge for safety; crush and size product (gray rock) into various sizes in indoor / outdoor operations under a nitrogen purge; run a bagging & canning line (for flammable rocks) in an open air shed; perform pond dredging and operate heavy equipment as needed
- Operate in a 24 / 7 environment with exposure to dusty, dirty, wet, or extreme weather conditions
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, etc.) or Technical Certification5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in chemical or heavy industryExperience in continuous improvement programs, such as lean manufacturing and 6SProven leadership experience managing production teams in a union or non-union environmentStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality standardsCommitment to safety, quality, and compliance standardsProficiency in implementing process optimization and cost reduction initiativesStrong understanding of process safety, mechanical systems, and industrial controlsExcellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skillsProficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliarity with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standardsSeniorities
