The Department of Computing Sciences at Coastal Carolina University seeks to identify strong candidates for a teaching-track position at the rank of Lecturer. We seek a highly motivated individual with a commitment to undergraduate and possibly graduate education that embraces modern and innovative pedagogical approaches to provide engaged learning experiences in the classroom. This non-tenure track position is teaching-focused and carries a teaching load of five courses per semester. Candidates with at least an earned master’s degree, expertise, and experience in all areas of computer science, computer information systems, and information technology are encouraged to apply.The Department of Computing Sciences currently offers three undergraduate degree programs (Bachelor of Science in computer science, information systems, and information technology) and one graduate degree (Master of Science of information systems technology) to over 350 currently enrolled students majoring in these programs. These programs are delivered by five tenured professors, four lecturers, two senior lecturers, and one principal lecturer. Teaching-track faculty that enter the university at the rank of Lecturer can pursue career advancement to the ranks of senior lecturer and terminal rank of principal lecturer.The Gupta College of Science works to provide a premier and experience-driven STEM education to all of its students. Must have completed 18 graduate hours in the relevant discipline, hold a master’s degree or meet the established alternative qualifications, and exhibit strong potential for excellence in teaching. Maintain currency in academic discipline.

Current knowledge and mastery of demonstrable skills in area of expertise with ability and willingness to effectively communicate them to students and colleagues is required.

Calculates and assigns grades (e.g., mid-term and final) through established procedures listed in the Faculty Manual and University Catalog. Tracks and reports absences as directed by the Office of the Registrar.
Job Duty :
Posts and holds regular office hours each week per College and University guidelines. Engages in University -related activities including committee assignments, meetings and scholarly pursuits as prescribed in the Faculty Manual. Serves as an academic advisor for students as assigned.
