Senior / Lead Interior Designer

Location : Houston, TX

Alexandra Killion Interiors is a full-service residential design firm known for timeless, layered, and thoughtfully tailored interiors. As we continue to grow, were seeking a Senior / Lead Designer to join our team someone with a refined design eye, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the design and procurement process from concept to installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design projects from concept through completion, overseeing all phases including space planning, design presentations, sourcing, documentation, purchasing, and installation
  • Develop and present cohesive design concepts that reflect both client goals and firm aesthetic standards
  • Oversee and mentor junior design staff, providing guidance, delegation, and constructive feedback
  • Manage client communication and expectations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and fabricators to ensure design intent and quality standards are met
  • Prepare design presentations, construction documents, and specifications using firm templates and standards
  • Review and approve purchase orders, quotes, and finish schedules in collaboration with the procurement team
  • Participate in photoshoots, marketing initiatives, and internal process development as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional interior design experience (preferably in high-end residential design)
  • Bachelors degree in Interior Design or related field
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and team members simultaneously
  • Confident client communication and presentation skills
  • Deep understanding of materials, furnishings, and the custom design process
  • Experience managing design assistants and leading client-facing meetings
