Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their team on a contract basis in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the organization's strategic goals. Responsibilities :

• Record and manage accounts receivable entries, resolve payment discrepancies, and follow up on overdue invoices.
• Process accounts payable transactions, including coding invoices, matching purchase orders, and handling W9 documentation.
• Lead the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and ensure data integrity across financial systems.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports, providing insights on variances and actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis with the Controller.
• Potentially perform inventory and cost accounting tasks, such as updating standard costs, tracking variances, and analyzing margins.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit schedules and required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements, including sales / use tax, property tax, and 1099 filings.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
