As a Project Geotechnical Engineer, you will work on a variety of geotechnical projects that include utilities, transportation, commercial, industrial, residential and retail projects through expert technical guidance. You will apply relevant design criteria, standards, and processes to deliver high-quality engineering tasks. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects. This role is based out of West Deptford, NJ.
- Responsibilities
- Coordinate with external multi-discipline teams to prepare proposals and execute projects.
- Design and construct subsurface elements including foundations, ground improvement applications, stabilized slopes, retaining structures and pipelines.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for foundations and earthwork for a wide range of projects including retaining walls, bridges, and commercial, industrial and residential developments.
- Formulate engineering analysis including soil and rock classification; shallow and deep foundation capacity, immediate and consolidation settlement; slope stability analysis; ground improvement; and earth retention systems.
- Manage field staff and offer guidance and technical expertise.
- Perform and direct basic laboratory testing
- Safely coordinate and execute field exploration programs, construction observation, and associated documentation.
- Support the entire construction phase of projects, RFP to closeout.
- Positively interact with client representatives.
- Develop and manage project scope, project budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules.
- Make quick technical recommendations and decisions within project scope.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in civil engineering (geotechnical focus a plus)
- 4+ years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience in local practices including stormwater management facility testing.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License. Able to quickly be licensed in NJ and PA.
- Experience with Lpile, AutoCAD, Settle 3D, and Slide software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word.
- Excellent writing, communication, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently.
Pay : Negotiable based on experience
