Data Center Engineer

Overview

The Data Center Senior Engineer will be responsible for the data center infrastructure projects and day-to-day activities of the Data Center Services (DCS) group. The DCS team is responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all server hardware / devices. This is a 12 month contract position with potential for contract to hire.

Responsibilities

• Support data center infrastructure projects and day-to-day activities of the Data Center Services group.
• Plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain server hardware and related devices in a large-scale enterprise data center.
• Perform hardware troubleshooting, break / fix, and configurations for IBM, EMC, Dell, Cisco, and other vendors.
• Manage cabling (level 1 cabling for hardware and structured cabling) and adhere to cabling standards.
• Utilize ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or DCIM tools (Sunbird or Nlyte) for incident tracking and capacity planning requests.
• Note : Previous experience within a mainframe environment is a plus; experience with capacity planning is also a plus.
