Position Summary
We are looking to fill the position of server for an intimate California Bistro and Deli in Echo Park opening October '25.
A 30-40 seat California take on the “deli and market by day, bistro by night” restaurants of Rome and Paris, Henrietta is a true neighborhood restaurant. Servers will work alongside the entire FOH and BOH team and create a warm, positive and welcoming environment for staff and guests alike.
Servers are responsible for selling and serving food and beverages in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner. As a small restaurant, servers will be asked to engage in all aspects of service.
This job is perfect for someone that loves hospitality, food and wants to be a part of small dynamic group of industry professionals.
This job is mostly nights but servers may be asked to work lunch shifts as well.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to :
- Serve full sections, as assigned by management
- Maintain complete knowledge of restaurant menu, specials, and beverage preparation
- Sell and serve food and alcoholic beverages responsibly
- Accurately enter and process customer orders in the POS system
- Handle payments, process different payment methods, and provide change when necessary
- Interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner, ensuring satisfaction and exceeding expectations
- Perform side-work duties and maintain cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant
- Clear, reset, and prepare tables for new guests
- Seat guests when needed
- Check guest identification for alcohol service; politely refuse service when required by law
- Monitor guests’ alcohol consumption, keep track of drinks served, and intervene as necessary (including offering transportation or requesting manager assistance)
- Arrive on time in a neat, clean uniform with proper grooming and personal hygiene
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
