Position Overview :
As the Project Controls Cost Manager (or Specialist) , you will play a key role in supporting the efficient delivery of our capital projects team. You'll drive consistency through data organization, scalable process implementation, and professional tool usage. This role requires a proactive leader and collaborator—someone who can analyze cost data, identify risks, and communicate insights that guide decision-making and project success.
You'll partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage budgets, track progress, evaluate performance, and continuously improve project controls across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement and maintain standardized cost management procedures across all active projects.
- Gather, classify, and benchmark cost data from contractors and suppliers to ensure data integrity and actionable insights.
- Perform cost engineering functions including estimating, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Translate approved project estimates into control budgets for active cost management.
- Provide cost estimating support for internal initiatives as needed.
- Monitor earned value metrics and evaluate projections against budget and schedule.
- Develop and manage project forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Oversee change order management and payment application review processes.
- Support general contractor and consultant oversight, including schedule, scope, and RFI tracking.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks through structured controls and proactive communication.
- Reconcile forecasted costs with actuals and produce post-project benchmarking reports.
- Prepare and present cost and schedule summaries using spreadsheets, graphs, and dashboards for senior leadership review.
- Lead or participate in regular project status and financial review meetings.
- Support the monthly Work-in-Place and forecasting cycle.
Qualifications : Education :
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Finance, or a related field required.Certification in Project Controls Management or equivalent preferred.Experience :
5–10 years of experience in cost management, cost engineering, or project controls within construction or capital project environments.Strong background in financial tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.Experience with accounting or project controls software such as Yardi, Anaplan, Procore, Oracle Primavera strongly preferred.Familiarity with data centers.Skills & Attributes :
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.Solid understanding of project controls principles, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and change management.High attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex cost data into actionable insights.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface across all levels of the organization.Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools; familiarity with earned value management is a plus.What We Offer :
