Aging Case Aide 2 (Local Government) - Wayne County Area Agency on Aging

THE POSITION

Wayne County Area Agency on Aging has an exciting and rewarding position for patient, compassionate, and organized individual. We are hiring an Aging Case Aid 2 to assist our Intake / Assessment team at both our Honesdale Senior Center and our Adult Daily Living Center in Hawley. If you would enjoy helping senior citizens by performing personal care tasks, recording vital signs, providing recreational activities, and finding resources for seniors to live more productive, safe, and happy lives while maintaining as much of their independence as possible, we want to hear from you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will perform a variety of duties under Intake / Assessment at our Honesdale Senior Center and at our Adult Daily Living Center in Hawley. Training and team support are provided. We will rely on your flexibility in scheduling and work locations to meet seniors' needs and your compassionate attention to promote independence, dignity, and quality of life for the seniors we serve.

With our Intake / Assessment activities, you will assist with initial contact for consumers or family members requesting information regarding services. This includes attending trainings to become knowledgeable and qualified to work with consumers and their families in determining the best available programs for their situations. Organizational skills and attention to detail are used constantly.

With our Adult Daily Living Center, you will assist in all phases of personal care, ambulation, preparation / serving of food including feeding, clean-up as necessary, and recreational activities. This includes getting to know participants and becoming familiar with their plans of care and medical diagnoses. Training will be provided for you to become certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Employee is required to be flexible in scheduling and will have duties in two settings. Employee may have overnight travel or out of County travel for meetings or training.
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
