Scope of responsibilities and accountability :

Provides all the below and supervises peers for same quality.

• Practices within the scope for a CRNA that are regulated by state boards regarding the nurse anesthetist.
• Reviews and demonstrates knowledge of all approved center policies and procedures for patient care.
• Provides complete documentation in all areas of care.
• Maintains positive and respectful working relationships with physicians, manager, and peers.
• Knowledge of use and maintains equipment needed for patient safety within the endoscopy center.
• Completes in-service of emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
• Maintains BLS and ACLS.
• Provide proof of required Continuing Medical Education Units as well as completing required in-services for staff to maintain accreditation.
• Experience in the use of current anesthesia techniques and agents.
• Sound judgment and response to emergency situations whether actual or drills.
• Along with the RN, maintains record and count of all anesthetic medications prior to, and at the end of each shift.
• Reports directly to Director of Nursing.

Major activities and essential job functions1 :

through review of data, direct observation, vital sign monitoring and / or consultation with other health care providers to provide optimal care pre-procedure, during procedure and for post-procedure.
