Systems Engineer – Industrial Automation

Job Description

We're seeking a Systems Engineer to lead requirements analysis, system design, and validation for industrial automation and control systems. This role supports full project lifecycle—from concept through commissioning—and helps define engineering standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

Lead system architecture, requirements analysis, and integration for automation projects
Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to align on design intent
Develop documentation : specs, interface controls, test plans
Conduct risk assessments and peer reviews of mechanical / electrical designs
Lead FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities
Mentor engineers and support proposal development

Essential Skills

Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Systems, or related)

8–9+ years in systems engineering for industrial automation

Experience with full project lifecycle and automation platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.)

Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and safety standards (IEC, ISO)

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Familiarity with MBSE, simulation, and digital twin technologies

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Familiarity with automation platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, control systems, and industrial communication protocols.

Experience in developing and deploying industrial automation systems in manufacturing or process industries.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The role may require working in both office and industrial settings, involving interaction with automation platforms and control systems. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage technical resources effectively.

Job Type & Location

Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, Texas.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00 / hr.
