The Department of Surgery at
South Sacramento Medical Center is seeking a full-time general
surgeon / surgical oncologist with an emphasis in
hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery to join our integrated health
system. Interested candidates should be board-certified or
board-eligible by the American Board of Surgery. Additional
training with complex general surgical oncology (CGSO) fellowship,
Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) fellowship, or transplant surgery
fellowship is encouraged. This position is ideally suited for a
practicing surgeon with a strong foundation in both robotic and
open HPB surgery. The ideal candidate will participate in
multidisciplinary teams / tumor boards to deliver complex HPB care,
have excellent open surgical technique, and be interested in
growing the minimally invasive HPB program. Kaiser Permanente in
Northern California regionalizes HPB care to four high-volume
centers, ensuring collaborative teams and specialized care. The
accepted candidate will join a multidisciplinary General Surgery
department with specialists across the range of
surgery. Responsibilities include limited call in support of a
separate and robust Emergency General Surgery service.
