E-911 Center Operator
Scotland County (NC) is seeking an E-911 Center Operator. The position offers a full benefits package including medical insurance, vacation, paid holidays, and membership in the North Carolina retirement system. The role involves performing responsible public safety communications and administrative support work for the law enforcement, fire, and rescue functions, county agencies, and forestry in the community.
Examples of duties include receiving routine and emergency telephone calls, operating electronic equipment to maintain contact with various emergency services, interviewing callers to determine the nature of the concern, and maintaining communications logs and reports.
Typical qualifications include graduation from high school and public contact and customer service experience; communications and dispatching experience preferred. Special requirements include obtaining certification by the State of North Carolina as a DCI Operator, EMD, EFD, and CPR certification, and NC DCI Certification.
