About the Role

A Fortune 1000 client of ours is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This role will support the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal policies, and adherence to accounting standards. The Staff Accountant will work closely with senior accounting staff and cross-functional departments to contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Support the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

Maintain and update fixed asset records, prepaid expenses, and accrual schedules.

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.

Assist with external audits by providing required documentation and schedules.

Monitor compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

Support budgeting and forecasting processes by preparing reports and analysis.

Perform ad hoc financial analysis and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

1–3 years of accounting experience (public or corporate accounting preferred).

Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP / accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks).

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or CPA track a plus.

Experience with multi-entity or multi-state accounting.

Knowledge of tax compliance and reporting.
