SAP HANA Package Implementation Specialist

Role Summary

The SAP HANA Package Implementation Specialist will be responsible for implementation, governance, performance optimization, and ongoing support of SAP HANA within the enterprise data and analytics ecosystem. This role ensures a high-performing, secure, and scalable environment while collaborating closely with application and data platform teams.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Governance & Optimization

  • Define and enforce governance standards and best practices for SAP HANA
  • Maintain SLA compliance and audit frameworks ensuring operational excellence
  • Lead capacity planning and performance optimization with regular workload reviews
  • Automate ingestion, extraction, performance testing, alerts, auditing, backups, and cleanup processes
  • Ensure enterprise-grade security and regulatory compliance across SAP HANA environments

Application Support & Performance Management

  • Perform application load testing, benchmarking, and code reviews prior to releases
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to drive performance improvements
  • Manage code migration and change control using CHARM, Git, or similar tools

    • Platform Operations & Support

  • Provide expert operational support for SAP HANA in Enterprise Data & Analytics platforms
  • Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis for production issues
  • Integrate with downstream platforms such as Snowflake, GCP, SFDC, and Teradata
  • Support upstream ingestion pipelines including BODS and Kafka (Python consumers)
  • Execute month-end and quarter-end processing activities ensuring accuracy and stability

    • Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Shell, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience using BODS and Kafka for data ingestion / extraction
  • SAP HANA deployment experience on cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts and CI / CD practices for SAP environments
  • Expertise in performance testing, tuning, and change control
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise security and compliance frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills with experience working across distributed teams
