OVERVIEW / ROLE DETAILS :

CBS News Miami is seeking an aggressive, creative go-getter to be the next Assistant News Director of our morning newscasts across all our platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :

Leading the digital producers

Coordinate content planning between news, digital, promotion, production, design, newspaper partners, and other stations in the group

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

5+ years experience in broadcast news

3+ years management experience

Experience with OTT streaming

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :

A highly motivated leader who can help coordinate the overnight and morning daypart operations.

Ability to lead a strong team of producers, reporters, and anchors.

Knowledge of the morning newscast audience and challenges presented by this time-period and the kind of stories viewers find interesting.

Must be a self-starter, be highly proactive; and have a strong editorial voice both in the editorial meetings and in the newsroom.

Must have strong knowledge of show production.

Ability to showcase using content and graphics.

Ability to implement the vision of the television station in the newscast.

Strong writing and storytelling skills, as well as a strong ability to copy edit reporter scripts.

Must be able to build news content and foster a creative work environment.

The ideal candidate is a natural leader.

Experience as an Executive Producer preferred.
