As a Medical Assistant with us, you'll play a vital role in patient care, providing them with friendly and courteous assistance.
Primary work location is St. Clair Shores, however, must be willing to work at all locations if needed. Our other offices are located in Roseville, Grosse Pointe, and Shelby Township.
Summary of Duties:
Clinical staff perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. In addition to clerical duties, they perform clinical duties in accordance to state law as defined by the practice.
- Prepare exam rooms for patient visit
- Escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturations and accurately document all information into the patient’s chart
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is scanned into and is available in the patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
- Assist in prescreening procedures when applicable
- Maintain good communication on a daily basis with the team you are assigned to
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain equipment, and follow all OSHA cleaning procedures
- Maintain patient confidentiality – HIPAA. Mandatory annual training is provided.
- Assist in respiratory diagnostic procedures such as spirometry, oxygen dosing, 6-Minute Walk testing, and inhaler instructions. Possible chest X-rays (dependent on location) and administering injections, alpha 1 testing, biologics, nebulizer treatments, and any other testing as outlined by the practice.
- Aid in prescription refills by following therapeutic interchange. Provide samples to patients. Message physicians regarding requested refills.
- Clerical duties include, but not limited to: prior authorizations for medications or procedures, CMN’s, chart prep, telephone encounters, patient action follow-up, answering phone calls and placing appointments and document scanning.
- Distribute HST (Home Sleep Test Units), including instructions and forms to patients. Download, review of data, cleaning, and recycling for next patients.
- Participate in training other MA’s and New MA’s as outlined or assigned.
- Perform any other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Skills/Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Previous experience with EMR systems
- Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant
- Strong computer skills
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must be willing to travel to multiple locations
