About the Role

A leading South Florida construction firm specializing in structural and shell construction is seeking a Senior Estimator / Purchasing professional to join their Miami team. This position plays a critical role in preconstruction, estimating, vendor relations, and project purchasing , ensuring accurate bids and cost control across high-rise and commercial projects.

Reporting directly to the General Manager , this role oversees the estimating process, supervises junior estimators, and manages vendor negotiations to achieve best-value results.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid proposals for structural and concrete scopes.
• Oversee estimating team performance , ensuring timely and accurate bid submissions.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships ; negotiate best pricing and terms.
• Lead project buyouts , contract reviews, and purchasing activities.
• Review and approve project scopes, drawings, and specifications before contract execution.
• Support project teams post-award with cost tracking, schedule input, and change order pricing.
• Conduct value engineering and propose cost-saving alternatives during preconstruction.
• Maintain and update estimating software, cost databases, and production metrics .
