Job Description : The Upper Sioux Police Department is currently accepting applications for full-time and part-time police officers. We believe in engaging with the citizens we serve, and we are looking for the best and brightest to join our community-oriented law enforcement team.

A variety of career enhancing assignments are available once proficiency in General Patrol has been established including Investigations, task force, drug recognition expert, traffic safety officer, police paramedic, Special Enforcement Teams, K9, Drone Pilot and more.
The Upper Sioux Community Police Department offers a take-home squad car program pending mileage.
The Upper Sioux Community Police Department will assist with housing needs for up to three months. The surrounding communities have great housing markets and rental properties available! Moving Incentives available!
Officers working with the Upper Sioux Community will be a part of PERA and have the additional option to pay into an existing 401K account or create one.
Applicants must meet Minnesota POST Board minimum selection standards and be eligible to possess a full-time Minnesota Peace Officer License by their date of application. Applications must include a resume with cover page, along with an Upper Sioux Community Police Department Application.

Pay Rate : Starting wage is $38.00 and up depending on experience. Upper Sioux Community offers an excellent benefit package and health care plan. 11 paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. Weekly overtime is available. Current medical certification (EMT & Paramedic) an additional $3.00 per hour.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
1.) Must be 21 years of age or older by desired start date
2.) Must have a valid driver's license; AND
3.) Must be eligible to possess and lawfully use a firearm, and successfully qualify with a handgun and other department weapons according to existing department qualification standards; AND
4.) Must be P.O.S.T licensed or be eligible for licensing by the Minnesota P.O.S.T. board at the time of hire. At the time of application, a resume and a copy of your Minnesota P.O.S.T license, P.O.S.T. eligibility letter or a letter addressing when Minnesota P.O.S.T eligibility can be expected must be included with your application.
