position summary
The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor oversees all installation, repair and upkeep operations of an organization's facilities. Maintenance managers ensure that their co-workers have the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to the allotted budget. Additionally, a maintenance manager will have a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other crafts.
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of buildings and all mechanical equipment installed in the buildings
- Responsible for timely installation and upkeep of company property
- Maintains machinery, plans repair activity, and develops maintenance and preventative maintenance procedures and schedules
- Allocates workload and supervises maintenance staff
- Manages relationships with contractors and service providers
- Has the authority to negotiate price on parts and services needed to maintain and repair buildings and equipment
- Maintains all maintenance logs for equipment and machinery including cranes
- Certified as Crane Inspector, does yearly crane inspections and certifies them annually
- Ensures health and safety policies are complied with by his team
- Monitors electrical and hydraulic systems in facilities are operating functionally
