POSITION
Chief Executive Officer
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the company's full profit and loss. He / she serves as the strategic leader and, in conjunction with the private equity sponsor, works to achieve the company's overall vision and mission. The CEO coordinates strategic initiatives and objectives that ensure the company’s financial health. This individual must lead by example and communicate the organization’s objectives to the employees and customers as appropriate.
Specific duties will include, but not necessarily be limited to :
- Lead all aspects of the company’s strategic growth plan, including organic growth and working with the private equity sponsor and founding owners on the identification, execution, and integration of add-on acquisitions.
- Provide leadership to drive the company's growth, execute on market opportunities, and build a dominant brand within the traffic control and field services industry
- Develop and implement strategic plans to further establish the company as a leading provider of traffic control services, equipment rentals, and signage solutions, with the potential for geographic expansion
- Create and deploy P&L strategies with aggressive targets for top and bottom-line growth; build a high-impact sales function to enable scaling and accelerated growth
- Identify and execute potential acquisition opportunities to expand service offerings or reach within the traffic management sector
- Ensure successful integration of merged companies, maximizing synergies while preserving individual strengths and client relationships
- Communicate the company's value creation strategy and vision, driving the team toward a unified mission
- Maintain reporting and accountability against financial targets, developing motivating incentive tools aligned with growth objectives
- Build and cultivate high-performing teams across all regions, recognizing and developing top talent
- Continuously improve operational efficiencies to maximize returns and minimize risks
- Provide strategic input on decision-making, particularly regarding mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships
OPPORTUNITY
The company operates in a large, highly fragmented industry that is ripe for consolidation. The private equity sponsor has set out to build a world-class civil engineering and quality assurance services company and is pursuing an aggressive acquisition strategy entailing a strong integration plan with the CEO helping to vet proprietary investment opportunities that fit the broader investment thesis. The new CEO will also help develop and expand upon the current investment strategy to reach a critical mass during the ownership period. The sponsor typically holds assets between four to six years.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience as a CEO / leader for a fast-paced, acquisitive, private equity-backed business in the broader civil engineering industry (commercial services, construction, MEP engineering, etc).Private equity experience, particularly execution of a successful value creation playbook and exit strategy and add-on M&A acquisitions.Experience establishing effective management protocols in a geographically dispersed and rapidly growing business. Experience leading a multisite commercial / field services businessStrong commercial background with a history of driving sustained, profitable growth through new business development and service expansionKnowledge and comfort with M&A process and post-closing integration.Demonstrated ability to scale a business and integrate synergies between units or functions, particularly in a post-merger environmentOutstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with an ability to effectively present to board members, customers, vendors, and future investors / buyers in various professional and social settings.An analytical mind that is comfortable with numbers and data-driven decision-making.
