Occupational Therapist

tar National Rehabilitation Network
Our innovative approach to advancing Occupational Therapy integrates advanced clinical skills with ongoing research and teaching OT (Occupational Therapy) students, patients, clinicians, and other health care professionals. Residency graduates will
demonstrate
advanced clinical reasoning, assessment, and intervention skills for individuals with neurologic disorders including stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injury. In collaboration with Trinity Washington University and MedStar's Rehabilitation research program, Residents will
demonstrate
excellence in evidence-based clinical care. Furthermore, residents will be prepared to apply for AOTA Board Certification in Physical Rehabilitation. This program aligns with MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital's mission to
provide
exceptional patient care, lead rehabilitation research, and dedication to the education and training of rehabilitation professionals. Residents will complete three clinical rotations, each for four months, at an acute care facility, inpatient stroke and TBI unit, and inpatient SCI unit. Residents will also have opportunities to work with and
observe
outpatient neurologic clinics to experience the continuum of care.
Throughout the year, Residents will work at Trinity Washington University as
adjunct
faculty and with a mentor in the Neuroscience Research Center at NRH to integrate education and research into clinical practice.

Primary Duties :
Performs evaluations, creates treatment plans, provides HEP, and plans discharge for Neurologic population utilizing best practices.
Initiates, discusses, and completes all required didactic modules assigned, timely and independently.
Develops research question and completes study to get a result.
Participates in advocacy and leadership activities as prescribed.
Qualifications :
Graduate from ACOTE accredited master's Level Program or above.
Must be licensed in the District Neurologic experience preferred of Columbia.
Member of AOTA.
Neurological experience preferred.
This position has a hiring range of : USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 / Yr.
