About The Position

Job Title : Cardiovascular Echo Sonographer

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE)

Must-Have :

Experience with adult echocardiograms

Use of image enhancing agents

Shunt (bubble) studies

STRIAN imaging

Preparation of preliminary reports for the MD

Description :

The unit has a total of 12 scanning rooms.

The sonographer will not be required to float or cover any other areas.

Common types of imaging performed include adult echocardiograms.

On average, the sonographer will perform 8 studies per day, with one-hour slots.

The department uses an EMR system with EPIC and has a reporting system for echo.

Department-specific equipment includes Philips Epiq 7 and GE Vivid E95 for echo, as well as GE Logiq 10 for vascular imaging.

There will be a lead sonographer for echo and a lead sonographer for vascular.

Registered Radiology Assistants are not used in the department.

There is no requirement to start IVs, but having IV skills is beneficial.

The shifts can consist of either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts depending on the needs of the lab.

Occasional weekend coverage may be needed.

There is no call or standby requirement.

Scrubs that meet the department's dress code are acceptable.

Charting will be done using the EPIC system.

A BSN is not required for this position.
