SUMMARY
The NON-CDL operator will provide transportation services in the counties in which GCTD operates, be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of vehicles, and always be required to perform professionally.
REQUIRED JOB DUTIES, ABILITIES, TRAITS
- Ability to deal professionally, ethically, and effectively with customers, co-workers, vendors, and the public, including providing prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to express self clearly and effectively, orally and in writing
- Adherence to all GCTD policies and procedures
- Assist dispatcher, lead bus operator, managers, or directors with office responsibilities as requested
- Assist passengers on and off vehicles
- Collect and record bus fares per GCTD procedures
- Attend all mandatory programs or staff training
- Ensure that the vehicle is maintained appropriately and complies with safety standards, including completing and or submitting daily vehicle inspections, cleaning the vehicle, or any other operator duties which may be assigned
- Maintain documentation according to GCTD policies and procedures
- Notification of late arrivals and or cancellation of service, clerical work answering telephones, directing calls, and or transit scheduling
- Notify dispatcher of delays more than 10 minutes in schedule and when needed
- Notify the dispatcher, transportation manager, lead bus operator, or the director of operations immediately of problems concerning the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, including any necessary repairs or maintenance concerns
- Notify the lead operator, manager, or office manager of any problems or complaints by the end of the business day before clocking out
- Pick up and drop off passengers according to a schedule
- Provide responsive, efficient, courteous, professional customer service and assistance to all passengers, customers, vendors, co-workers, and the public
- Provide passengers assistance when requested
- Requires ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Requires maintaining a DOT medical card, a Texas driver’s license, reliable transportation, and continuous auto liability insurance
- Strict adherence to the professional, ethical, and legal requirements outlined in the GCTD policy and procedure manual
- Submit incident and or accident reports by the end of the business day before clocking out to the lead operator or manager
- Treat all individuals with courtesy, decency, respect, and professionalism at all times
- Will be responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of the GCTD policies and procedures and will require communication with various departments and co-workers to foster, develop and continue our community partnerships as it relates to the position
- Working knowledge and ability to drive transit type vehicles
- Working knowledge of the operation of wheelchair lifts

High School Diploma or GED. Extensive work experience in lieu of education may be consideredREQUIRED LICENSURE & CERTIFICATIONS
Requires a valid Texas driver's licenseA current and valid D.O.T. medical cardAt minimum liability insuranceNo more than 3 (three) moving violations within the past 3 yearsPREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

May require travel to various locations within Brazoria and Galveston Counties.Work hours will be assigned based on GCTD business needs and may include varied work hours, weekends, holidays, irregular hours, mornings, evenings, split shifts, and overtimeOut of region travel may be required to attend trainingWork will be performed in the office, field, and or remote settingsSPECIAL PROJECTS
