Summary
The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Packaging Manager run the day-to-day preparation, packaging, and finished product handling processes at the cultivation and processing facility. The successful candidate will be an effective leader who possesses a passion for cannabis science, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to continually learn more to help educate her / his team. The main responsibility of the Packaging Supervisor is to assist the overseeing of the day-to-day operations of the packaging team and the packaging of final products, ensuring consistent compliance with all regulations and the highest levels of safety and cleanliness inside the processing areas.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Production Operations :
o Ensure safe, accurate, and timely production of products.
o Maintain cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in the production area.
o Ensure compliance with state regulations and testing requirements.
o Adhere to proper handling and safe use of hazardous materials, maintaining compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
Quality Control and Documentation :
o Oversee quality control for processed plant material and packaged products.
o Verify the completion of daily and weekly logs related to dry room operations, quality checks, and testing requirements.
o Monitor and track byproducts generated during processing.
Coordination and Equipment Management :
o Collaborate with the manager to align on priorities for harvest, trimming, and packaging operations.
o Ensure all required equipment and materials are available and set up before each shift. Report any concerns or discrepancies to the manager.
Team Oversight and Scheduling :
o Assist with managing production and packaging staff schedules, including adjusting break times as needed.
o Ensure compliance with company meal and break policies and oversee adherence to these standards .
Employee Engagement and Performance :
o Address employees concerns respectfully, escalating issues to the SPM or DOP as appropriate.
o Assist the SPM in conducting monthly individual check-ins with staff to review KPI performance.
o Provide objective input for annual reviews of processing department technicians.
o Facilitate one-on-one meetings with new employees during their onboarding period.
Support for Production Management :
o Act as the primary point of contact during the approved absence of the Processing Manager, ensuring all assigned tasks are communicated and executed effectively.
o Assist the Sr. Production Manager (SPM) or Director of Production (DOP) as needed.
Inventory and Supply Management :
o Support the manager with weekly and monthly inventory counts.
o Assist in reviewing and placing requisitions for processing supplies.
o Coordinate weekly storage requests with the manager.
Operational Excellence :
o Complete special assignments and other tasks as directed by the SPM.
o Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), promptly reporting any deviations to the manager.
o Review departmental spreadsheets daily to verify accuracy.
Perform additional responsibilities and other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the production team and company objectives.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Must be 21 years of age or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years of experience in a packaging facility (cannabis preferred)
Knowledge of METRIC / Dutchie ideal
Work history showing progressive, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Strong leadership presence and interpersonal skills
Exhibits a sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with others.
Ability to maintain confidentiality; reliable
Computers and Technology
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Proficiency with inventory systems and office equipment

Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching. Ability to carry up to 50lbs for up to a distance of 100 ft may be required. Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects. Ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment. On-site daily attendance is required.
