We are seeking musicians to volunteer their time and talent to perform for hospice patients residing in a local assisted living facility. Music therapy benefits hospice patients by reducing pain, anxiety, and depression while increasing relaxation, enhancing memory, communication, and quality of life.
Patients receiving hospice care enjoy the friendship and music of volunteers. Volunteers often read to patients, hold their hands, listen or play music, sing, watch TV, play games, share stories, or offer caregiver respite. Your companionship ensures that patients have quality at their end of life.
Orientation is short and arranged to fit your schedule. We have flexible hours, will write letters of recommendation, be a referral, and are willing to do a Non-Paid Internship.
With our flexible schedule, you can work as many hours as you are able / willing to volunteer.
