Direct Counsel is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join a well-regarded firm in Sacramento.

This firm is widely recognized for its depth of experience in both trusts and estates litigation and administration matters. With more than 80 attorneys across California, the team is known for providing sophisticated legal services in a collegial, supportive environment where contributions are recognized, and hard work is balanced with fulfillment.

Highlights of the role :

Litigate a wide range of trusts and estates disputes, including will and trust contests, fiduciary removal, breach of fiduciary duty, elder financial abuse, conservatorships, and administration matters

Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence while managing court appearances, mediations, and trials

Collaborate with estate planning colleagues on complex matters involving succession, valuation, and retirement planning

Develop and execute litigation strategies while maintaining strong client relationships

Qualifications :

J.D. from an accredited law school with active California Bar membership

Minimum of 4 years of trusts and estates litigation experience (senior-level candidates also welcome, including shareholder applicants with portable business)

Strong legal analysis, research, drafting, and courtroom advocacy skills

Ability to manage multiple matters independently while meeting deadlines and billable requirements

Client-service mindset and collaborative approach

Compensation : $170,000 – $202,500, depending on years of experience, plus comprehensive benefits.
