Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Rugby, ND 58368 (North Dakota healthcare jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (October 11, 2025 – January 10, 2026)

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Med / Surg Unit, Critical Access Hospital

Shift : 12-hour rotating shifts (days / nights), including weekends and holidays

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1860 - $2000

Open Positions : 2 Med / Surg RN travel jobs

Charting System : Epic EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

BLS certification required

ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred

IV therapy experience required

Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred

Ability to provide ER backup support as needed

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients (pneumonia, rehab, UTI, post-op, pain management, fractures, dementia, falls)

Occasionally care for pediatric patients requiring IV fluids

Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 6 or less (up to 1 : 8 on nights)

Titrate drips as needed (basic knowledge; Cardizem most common)

Interpret and monitor cardiac strips (Phillips monitors)

Collaborate with charge nurses, nurse aides, and interdisciplinary healthcare team

Provide patient education, assist with ADLs, ambulation, and rounding

Participate in weekend and holiday rotations

Ensure accurate documentation in Epic and adhere to hospital policies
